Precise Finish, Flatness and Thickness

These multiple order quarter wave and half wave retardation plates consist of a single disc of single crystal quartz or sapphire, depending on the application, which is polished to very precise finish, flatness, and thickness tolerances. They can be anti-reflective coated with a “V” coat or broadband AR coating.

Thickness: 75 microns to 1.50 mm depending on diameter

Transmitted Wavefront Error: λ / 10 @ 0.632 µm over the clear aperture

Surface Quality: 10-5 scratch-dig per MIL-PRF-13830 over the clear aperture

Parallelism: 1.0 arc seconds maximum

Clear Aperture: central 85% of the diameter

Retardation Tolerance: λ / 200 to λ / 1200 depending on wavelength
