A line of petroleum-free, high-purity optical polishing pitch that comes in five hardness grades that are easy to melt and pour without screening or mixing has been introduced by Meller Optics, Inc. of Providence, RI.

Meller’s Gugolz Optical Polishing Pitch is made from all-natural wood resin which prevents contamination of the polishing media and substrate and is ready to use by just slicing, melting, and pouring the lap. Available in five fully compatible hardness grades from very-soft to very-hard, with melting points from 52ºC to 87ºC, users can precisely match this high-purity pitch to their specific finishing requirements.

Featuring highly controlled batch-to-batch consistency, Meller’s Gugolz Optical Polishing Pitch is ideal for blocking, lapping, and polishing virtually any substrate including CaF2, germanium, quartz, silicon, ZnSe, ZnS, and other optical materials. It comes in 1 kg containers; packaged 12 per box.

Meller’s Gugolz Optical Polishing Pitch is priced per 1 kg container.
